Package: cupsys
Version: 1.2.7-1
Severity: important
/usr/lib/cups/backend-available/usb produces the same device URI for two
(identical) printers:
ciriaco:/home/fmaresca# /usr/lib/cups/backend-available/usb
direct usb://EPSON/Stylus%20C45 "EPSON Stylus C45" "EPSON Stylus C45 USB #1"
"MFG:EPSON;CMD:ESCPL2,BDC,D4;MDL:Stylus C45;CLS:PRINTER;DES:EPSON Stylus C45;"
direct usb://EPSON/Stylus%20C45 "EPSON Stylus C45" "EPSON Stylus C45 USB #2"
"MFG:EPSON;CMD:ESCPL2,BDC,D4;MDL:Stylus C45;CLS:PRINTER;DES:EPSON Stylus C45;"
So there is no way to configure two separate printers from the web interface.
Now, if the device URIs are changed to:
DeviceURI usb://EPSON/Stylus%20C45?serial=LD3P90504061024440
and
DeviceURI usb://EPSON/Stylus%20C45?serial=L32019802270340430
to univocally identify each printer, the printers does not print at all.
The old style for the device URI (usb:/dev/usb/lp0) does also not work.
Thanks.
