Package: xprt-xprintorg
Version: 0.0.9.final-2
Severity: important

Running /etc/init.d/xprint start results in

Xprt_64:
Xprt_64: Fatal server error:
Xprt_64: could not open default font 'fixed'
Xprt_64: Xprint server pid=2928 done, exitcode=0.

If I change line 337 in /etc/init.d/xprint to use 'sort -u -r' instead
of 'sort -u' then xprt starts successfully.
I have some asian fonts installed to have asian web sites show up
correctly.
Maybe patching the init script will do as a short term solution as long
as the problem itself is not fixed.

BR,
Daniel

I believe the "could not open default font 'fixed'" problem is now
solved, so I'm closing these bugs.

The bug seems to be occuring when fonts.alias or fonts.dir is present in
an otherwise empty directory. The file references the "fixed" font, but
the font ain't there. Solution is to delete (or repair) the broken font
directory.
