Package: f-spot
Version: 0.4.0-3.1
Severity: normal
Hi,
I have noticed f-spot displays the wrong time in the lower left corner when
browsing the catalogue.
There is always a -2 hours offset which I can't explain.
The EXIF meta-data of the pictures in the camera are coherent:
$ jhead -v /media/disk/dcim/101msdcf/dsc00809.jpg | grep DateTime
DateTime = "2007:09:30 16:00:40"
DateTimeOriginal = "2007:09:30 16:00:40"
DateTimeDigitized = "2007:09:30 16:00:40"
DateTime = "2007:09:30 16:00:40"
Date/Time : 2007:09:30 16:00:40
but once imported to f-spot and copied on the disk:
$ jhead -v /home/julien/Photos/2007/09/30/dsc00809.jpg | grep DateTime
DateTime = "2007:09:30 19:21:10"
DateTimeOriginal = "2007:09:30 14:00:40"
DateTimeDigitized = "2007:09:30 16:00:40"
Date/Time : 2007:09:30 14:00:40
The time displayed in the f-post UI is 14:00 for this picture.
I live in France, ie. UTC+0200, maybe it is related. I have changed my clock
not to be at UTC time, but
this hasn't changed anything.
This is very ennoying as pictures get modified without any notice, with false
information!
I could have understood if the DateTimeDigitized field was updated to be the
time of import to f-spot, but why change
the DateTimeOriginal entry?
Note that I have compiled the updated Ubuntu version (0.4.0-3) to check if this
was fixed upstream, but the
issue is still there.
Cheers,
Julien

* debian/control, debian/rules: Drop gnome-screensaver build-dep and set
variables at configure time. Should reduce the BD chain significantly.
* debian/control: Increase minimum version on libgphoto2-dev BD in line with
configure requirements.
* debian/control: Add build-dependency on libunique-dev to build new
unique-sharp bindings which f-spot now uses to handle activation.
* debian/patches/debian_link-system-mono-addins.patch: Drop, now upstream
* debian/patches/*: Refresh to apply to new upstream version
* debian/rules: Pass include directories to autoreconf to have the correct
macros in scope for the new build system
* debian/patches/ubuntu*: Steal patches from Ubuntu package to improve
--view mode and add an undo/redo stack. Rebase on new upstream version.
Thanks to Chris Halse Rogers.
* debian/patches/ubuntu_fname_quote_percent.patch: Drop, now upstream.
* debian/patches/git_transition_duration.patch: Cherrypick patch from
upstream to reduce the transition duration when entering fullscreen to
600ms.
* debian/rules: Incorporate Ubuntu specific changes, and guard by a call to
dpkg-vendor.
* debian/rules: Don't try to install the gconf schemas when building
