Package: feh
Version: 1.2.6-5
Severity: normal
feh will follow a link to /proc/self, and recurse ad infinitum into
/proc/self/fd/*. This may lead to excess memory consumption as well as
heavy VFS load.
Test case:
$ mkdir test
$ cd test
$ cp ../tatoo.jpg .
$ cp tatoo.jpg 0.jpg
$ chmod 0 0.jpg
$ #above is to illustrate recursion by displaying an error
$ ln -s /proc/self/ issue-at-hand
$ feh -r .

Suggested resolutions (2):
1) Links should not be followed (limits functionality)
2) a test case for /proc/self/ should be inserted into the code
