Package: dbconfig-common
Version: 1.8.3
Severity: important

Hi,

First: It's a nice thing that you provided a common infrastructure for
db-based applications. It eases the life of translators, sponsors,
mentors and users. Common interfaces are good.

But, please, PLEASE provide working examples. This has a really bad
bug:
| #!/bin/sh
|
| set -e
| #set -x
|
| . /usr/share/debconf/confmodule
| . /usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/preinst.mysql
| dbc_go db-test-mysql-perl $@
|
| #DEBHELPER#
[/usr/share/doc/dbconfig-common/examples/db-example-2.1/debian/db-test-mysql-perl.preinst]

Using "set -e": Good.
Using #DEBHELPER#: Good.
Forgetting to pre-depends on dbconfig-common: Priceless.

Please fix this.

TIA,
Marc

Description:
dbconfig-common - common framework for packaging database applications
Closes: 322281 323620
Changes:
 dbconfig-common (1.8.4) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Sean Finney:
     - add support for 'template' output format in dbc_generate_include.
     - dbc no longer provides preinst hooks, as we can't promise
dbconfig-common will be there without pre-depends. turns out
there was a more graceful way to handle what we wanted to do
in there anyway. also updated example packages accordingly.
thanks to Miguel (as well as Marc 'HE' Brockschmidt)
       for finding this (closes: #323620).
     - updated vi.po fro clytie siddall (closes: #322281).
