-- no debconf information
When enter is pressed upon a focused executable file (e.g.:
/usr/bin/mc),
the screen blinks, but no file is executed.
When file is not executable,
the correct mailcap handler is invoked.
The filesystem mount options allow files to be executed,
i. e. the file can be executed from the subshell.
The problem is neither user-related (reproducible as a root as well as a
regular user)
nor environment-related (reproducible in the default environment).
Earlier versions (2:4.6.2~git20080311-4, 3:4.7.0.1-1) exhibit the same
behaviour.
Unlike Debian build, an mc build from Gentoo (the same version) behaves well.

Hi!
The work on the mailcap branch has been suspended as the new parsing
mechanism for mailcap will probably be developed upstream. Therefore I
am closing this bug.
