This gets entered into the dhcp.leases file. Machine powers down, doesn't release the dhcp lease(debian ifupdown doesn't do that, separate bug filed). Machine powers back up, requests a dhcp address, with a hostname of orb-1-1-6(it looks at the slot it is plugged into). dhcp gives it the same ip address. However, there are 2 entries in the dhcp.leases file, that only differ by hostname. hwaddress and ip are the same. This causes dhcp-dns to make duplicate entries in the domain. ----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK---- Version: 3.12 GCS d- s: a-- c+++ UL++++ P+ L++++ !E W+ M o+ K- W--- !O M- !V PS-- PE++ Y+ PGP++ t* 5++ X+ tv b+ D++ G e h*! !r z? -----END GEEK CODE BLOCK----- ----BEGIN PGP INFO---- Adam Heath <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Finger Print | KeyID 67 01 42 93 CA 37 FB 1E 63 C9 80 1D 08 CF 84 0A | DE656B05 PGP AD46 C888 F587 F8A3 A6DA 3261 8A2C 7DC2 8BD4 A489 | 8BD4A489 GPG -----END PGP INFO----- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 84601-done) by bugs.debian.org; 29 Aug 2005 21:42:50 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 29 14:42:50 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from mail.irb.hr [161.53.22.8] (UNKNOWN) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1E9rOz-0000ze-00; Mon, 29 Aug 2005 14:42:50 -0700 Received: from diziet.irb.hr (diziet.irb.hr [161.53.22.31]) by mail.irb.hr (8.13.3/8.13.3/Debian-6) with ESMTP id j7TLgQcL005614; Mon, 29 Aug 2005 23:42:26 +0200 Received: from diziet.irb.hr (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by diziet.irb.hr (8.13.4/8.13.4/Debian-3) with ESMTP id j7TLgY42004887; Mon, 29 Aug 2005 23:42:34 +0200 Received: (from [EMAIL PROTECTED]) by diziet.irb.hr (8.13.4/8.13.4/Submit) id j7TLgYXv004885; Mon, 29 Aug 2005 23:42:34 +0200 Date: Mon, 29 Aug 2005 23:42:34 +0200 From: Matej Vela <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Removed from Debian - abandoned upstream, superseded by dhcp3-server Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.10i X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.51 on 161.53.22.8 X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.51 on 161.53.22.31 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-CrossAssassin-Score: 9 Hi, This package has now been removed from Debian because it is no longer maintained upstream, and its functionality is provided by dhcp3-server.
