Package: mplayer
Version: 1.0~rc3+svn20090405-1
Severity: normal
When upgrading mplayer today I was told my config file is being replaced, and
asked if I wanted to diff it. When I did, I saw the following path given for
system wide mplayer config: /usr/local/etc/mplayer.conf . Here is the diff:
-### mplayer DEBCONF AREA. DO NOT EDIT THIS AREA OR INSERT TEXT BEFORE IT.
-#video output driver
-vo=xv,x11
-#device for dvd
-dvd-device=/dev/dvd
-#enable fontconfig
-fontconfig=1
-font='sans'
-#if you do not like this default, override it by adding
-# a ao= line below this debconf area
-ao=alsa,oss
-### END OF DEBCONF AREA. PLACE YOUR EDITS BELOW; THEY WILL BE PRESERVED.
+#
+# MPlayer configuration file
+#
+# Configuration files are read system-wide from /usr/local/etc/mplayer.conf
+# and per user from ~/.mplayer/config, where per-user settings override
+# system-wide settings, all of which are overrriden by the command line.
+#
+# The configuration file settings are the same as the command line
Thanks,
Karl.

correct. This bug is actually fixed quite some time now more or less
accidentally. I'm therefore closing this issue with this mail
