Hi Thomas and Pau,
Before uploading tcltk-defaults 8.5 in unstable, it would be nice to
see what fallout that would have, by rebuilding all relevant packages
against the version in experimental.
Since experimental buildds use packages from sid by default, this
requires sourceful uploads to change build-deps to explicitly request
the version from experimental, as discussed on debian-release[1]:
Build-Depends: tk-dev (>= 8.5)
When I tried the rebuild locally (from an svn snapshot), I quickly
gave up from intimidation at the huge package. :) If you are short on
time, I can try again and let you know what problems I run into.
Currently ace has a Build-Depends on tk-dev (>= 8.4.7) and
libace-reactor-dev has a Depends on tk-dev (>= 8.4.7), though no
package build-depends on the latter. To get the buildds to use tk 8.5
now while it is not in sid yet, all that would be required is to
temporarily change these 8.4.7 to 8.5; but I cannot say whether using
the new versions will break anything.
Thoughts?
