Hi,
I tried to test 2.6.26-rc8 kernel from
http://kernel-archive.buildserver.net/debian-kernel/ and it seems that the
killswitch changes triggers problems in network-manager/hal/dbus. Not sure who
should adapt itself (I guess network-manager or hal), but you may want to look
at it.
The errors don't seem fatal, I manage to eventually connect to my access
point, but it takes quite some time. In syslog I get these:
Jul 5 14:24:02 hidalgo hal-ipw-killswitch-linux: error:
org.freedesktop.Hal.NoSuchProperty: No property net.interface on device with
id /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/pci_8086_4230_logicaldev_input
Jul 5 14:24:02 hidalgo NetworkManager: <info> Error getting killswitch
power: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.UnknownError - process 1426: arguments to
dbus_move_error() were incorrect, assertion "(dest) == NULL ||
!dbus_error_is_set ((dest))" failed in file dbus-errors.c line 278. This
is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
Cheers,

I'm going to close this bug report.
NM uses libudev nowadays and no longer hal, so this bug report is obsolete.
