I wanted to extract something continuosly from a log file.
I tried to do that with the command:
tail -F /var/log/mail/procmail.log | egrep "Folder| Subject:|Match" >>
/var/log/mail/procmail.kurz.log
without the redirection to procmail.kurz.log it's working, a tail
(without -F) and a cat (instead of "tail -F") each of the last two with
redirection is working, too.
In the output of strace there never appeared anything similar to
procmail.kurz.log neither with or without the "-F" option. So I guess
it won't help if I include the output of the strace command.
Despite this automatic report my System is a clean sarge
without any backports. (I've just the "sid main" in my apt-sources
for experiments with the (not running) kernel 2.6.12)
Maybe this bug is related to #282799?

Not a bug, the output is buffered, the output arrives in the file,
when the buffer is written.
