Package: bogofilter
Version: 0.15.13-1
Severity: normal
bogoupgrade doesn't seem to be very intelligent about memory management. When
doing a bogoupgrade -d on my old goodlist/spamlist dir, it consumes RAM until
there's none left and the kernel starts killing things. On a machine with 1G
RAM and 5G swap, it exhausts the 3GB VM limit! You need a 64-bit machine just
to let it finish, it seems.
Here's the contents of my .bogofilter/ dir (I used a copy for the failed
upgrade):
total 158328
-rw------- 1 nick nick 68386816 2004-01-07 10:17 goodlist.db
-rw------- 1 nick nick 93569024 2004-01-07 10:18 spamlist.db
And here's what "du -sk .bogofilter/*" shows:
66856 .bogofilter/goodlist.db
91472 .bogofilter/spamlist.db

The time has come for this bug to be closed ;)
