'aptitude full-upgrade' from etch to lenny aborts with the error:
Processing was halted because there were too many errors.
These errors are probably caused by a wrong installation order of python
modules.
I've tried to extract all python related messages from the upgrade log.
Most of the directories dpkg wants to delete and fails contain symlinks
which were created during the upgrade process (at least their timestamps
are fresh), so it seems something is going wrong there too.

Maybe spe should have been upgraded before python?
Unfortunately it's not installable at the current broken state.
But temporarily purging spe resolves the conflict, python is
configurable then and spe reinstallable after it.
