Package: fileutils
Version: 4.0l-3
Severity: wishlist

ls should have a sort option that shows directories first. this should be
combinable with alpha-sorting. (first dirs by alphabet, then all others).
just like in dos or os/2. i really miss that feature, but i fear im not
(yet) able to implement it myself...

This feature is implemented in coreutils 8.5-1 in Squeeze:
ls --group-directories-first

Therefore, I am close this bug before it becomes 12 years old... ;)
