Comments/Problems:

I did make the dist-upgrade from remote via ssh.
Everything runs very well. Except the update of network-manager.
At this point the eth0 shuts down and don't coming up again :-(

The last what I did see, was:
Setting up network-manager (0.8.1-6) ...
Installing new version of config file
/etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/01ifupdown ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/dbus-1/system.d/NetworkManager.conf
...
Installing new version of config file /etc/init.d/network-manager ...
Reloading system message bus config...done.
Stopping network connection manager: NetworkManager.

Hi Joerg,

thanks for the bug report.

The current versions of networkmanager no longer shutdown the interface for
ethernet connections when being restarted. Unfortunately this can't be fixed
retroactively for lenny.

For future upgrades you should have no network outages anymores.

Closing the bug with the current version available in sid.

Cheers,
Michael
