Package: kaffeine-mozilla
Version: 0.4.3.1-1
Severity: important
Hi,
I've marked this bug important, because it actually causes a very hard
crash but I know these things can be a little subjective.
Here's how I reproduce the problem. I use Ebaum's World, because it's
just the first site that I know off the top of my head that has a lot of
embedded media, but I'm sure I've seen the problem on other sites as
well.
1) Bring up Konqueror and goto http://www.ebaumsworld.com/.
2) Select any of the "Daily Media." Note that the plugin actually works
for me and the embedded video plays fine.
3) Right click on the link labeled "If video does not play, click here
to Download" and select "Save Link As..."
You should then have a signal 11 (SIGSEGV) crash of Konqueror.
I removed the kaffeine-mozilla package from my system, and Konqueror
downloads the file fine in that case. As far as I can tell, there seems
to be some really bad interaction between Konqueror and the plugin.
Unfortunately, I just know any more information than what I've included
in this bug report.
