Package: gtkmm2.4
Version: 1:2.18.2-1
Severity: minor

Packages built from gtkmm2.4 use the basic short description form "C++ wrappers
for GTK+ 2.4".
The most likely reading for that is "C++ wrappers for (GTK+ 2.4)", which is not
the intended reading. The second most possible reading is "(C++ wrappers for
GTK+) [version] 2.4" which is still wrong.

What you actually mean is that the package contains gtkmm-2.4. This precision
is not really necessary, since Debian ships a single version of gtkmm, so I'd
suggest to remove that information from the short descriptions, solving this
bug at the same time. If you choose this solution, the extended descriptions
should still explain what the 2.4 stands for, possibly taking inspiration from
the note at the top of http://www.gtkmm.org/documentation.shtml
Suggestion for extended descriptions: "This package uses the gtkmm-2.4 API."
