Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.8.8-13
Severity: important
rhythmbox crashes while importing my (rather large) collection of songs.
In ~/.xsession-errors there are a large number of these messages:
(rhythmbox:8739): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: gvalue.c:89: cannot initialize G=
Value with type `gchararray', the value has already been initialized as `gc=
hararray'
=20
which I think are being generated as rhythmbox tries to index files that
show up with Album=3D"unknown"... The actual crash happens later, and
leaves just one line:
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x9036d)!
on a previous run, this was:
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x5938a)!
There may be all kinds of missing or unusual tag information in the
files, especially issues to do with encoding (lots of fields are not
displayed correctly or completely in tag editors such as cantus); and
also incomplete files.
unfortunately, I have no idea where exactly the crash occurs / which one
is the offending file. rhythmbox worked fine for me for a long time, but
at one point I wasn't sure whether all my recent additions were
correctly added to the database (or whether it was a problem with
missing tags), so I renamed the old database (>1MB) with the intention
to create a new one... Moving back to the old library is not a problem,
though.

Nope sorry, I don't have any ape files.
I'm closing this bug.
