I've forwarded the patch you attached to upstream and it will be applied
(barely modified) in next stable release, I guess.
In the meanwhile, I've applied the same patch to the source package and
will be part of next debian revision (2.0.1-2, already packaged) that
will be uploaded in sid once the current revision migrates to testing.
I'm closing this bug report.
However, feel free to re-open it if you think the issue has not been solved.
