Package: partimage
Version: 0.6.4-7
Severity: important

I tried to make images of my partitions under kernel 2.6.4 and found
out that only my smallest partition (/boot, 50 mb) will be processed.

Usually, partimage will just crash silently without leaving any
useable traceback.

It took me a while to realize that I must do "mkdir
/var/log/partimage" to be able to read debugging info.

Afterwards, I found out that partimage fails trying to parse
superblock with message "ERROR BITMAP Used and m_bCanBeMore=0"

Extensive search in the partimage forums shown that this error is
usually attributed to partimage being "linux 2.2/2.4 app".

I think that partimage should either report this and die gracefully
(and not with simply disappear from sight silently) or refuse to
install along with kernels >= 2.4
