Package: hal
Version: 0.5.14-3
Severity: important
hal is really needed by all laptops.
I use KDE and I have battary applet in bottom right of my screen. If I install
hal, this applet will correct display information about my battary, if I don't
install, applet will not display.
If you don't add hal to laptop task, a lot of begginers will be confused.

Hi,
hal is dead and we are trying to remove it for wheezy. So installing it by
default on a laptop is not a good idea.
That said, KDE 4.6+ no longer requires hal (on Linux), so for wheezy it
shouldn't be needed anymore.
