Although I got the error messages a few times, they stopped after awhile.

I have used the work-around reported in 479865 (done at least a week ago).

The errors occur at a time when I tend to get errors like
Jun 4 02:25:26 corn spamd[10118]: auto-whitelist: open of auto-whitelist file
failed: child processing timeout at /usr/sbin/spamd line 1262.
Jun 4 02:36:23 corn cyrus/lmtpunix[24227]: IOERROR: locking header for
user.ross.comp.subversion: Interrupted system call

I have been unable to determine the cause of those errors, but it is
happening during a nightly backup. However, the errors reported
earlier are new today. I did an aptitude update yesterday, but see no
packages that look as if they could be related.

This problem should be resolved along with the resolution of bug 479865,
so I'm closing the bug. Please reopen if you think I'm mistaken.
