In multiplayer mode the player, which started the match, see all other
players with it's own model until he is killed. After all models are
correct.

You see all other players as your own model until you view the scoreboard
(either by dying or by holding Tab), at which point the others get loaded.
It's not just the host - everyone gets this for players who joined after
they did.

It's not a bug - the Quake 3 engine does it deliberately, to avoid having the
game skip frames (and potentially get you killed) while it loads more models.
