It would be nice if the command "xpdf file" worked whether or not file
is compressed. xdvi has this facility, and does it by naming the real
xdvi binary as xdvi.bin and has xdvi as a wrapper.
xpdf could do this in the same way by simply renaming xpdf as xpdf.bin
and zxpdf as xpdf, with the calls in it to xpdf modified to call
xpdf.bin instead.
