Dear pkg-perl,

$RE{net}{domain} does not allow domains that start with digits.

Such domains do exist (e.g. 3.dk or 3com.com).

{
  This makes $RE{net}{domain} mostly unusable in the real world in 2011,
  this will make me doubt when advising Perl beginners to use R::C,
  so I wonder why I refrain from setting this bug >normal.
}

A trivial patch has been sitting in upstream bug tracker since 2006:
    https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=23626
Upstream did not comment in 5 years and ended up downgrading the bug
severity to "wishlist" a few months ago :/

What do you think about applying the patch in Debian, and/or using the
pkg-perl team super-powers to gently ask upstream about it?

Bye,
