Package: ibus-qt4
Version: 1.3.1-1
Severity: normal
When ibus is installed, dead keys stop working in Qt/KDE applications,
whenever ibus is active or not. This happens on my two computers, both
having ibus-qt4 installed.
Initially I installed ibus, ibus-qt4 and ibus-pinyin. The pinyin method
works like a charm but whether ibus is activated or not, dead keys stop
being dead anymore. That is, when I enter ^ and then e it dispalys ^e.
I'm using a bépo layout (sort of french dvorak). There is some report of
similar problem upstream [1] but it seems to be the reverse: KDE
applications working but a few non Qt/KDE applications causing problems.
Then I tried installing ibus-tables, ibus-xkbc and ibus-compose but it
just provide a way to get the accentued letters without using deadkeys
which is not what I'm looking for.
Best regards.

Hi there,
I tried again today and it now works like a charm. I'm sorry I can't put a
version in it but anyway, I have the feeling the problem was solved thanks to
another component change. Thanks for maintaining ibus.
