Package: debian-goodies
Version: 0.51
Severity: normal

Hi and thanks for maintaining debian-goodies!

I noticed an awkward issue with checkrestart, since I upgraded xorg
to the new version that recently migrated to testing (xorg/1:7.4+4).

On boxes that use xserver-xorg-video-intel, checkrestart always
complains about Xorg, as soon as I start an X session, without the
need to perform any package upgrade.

Steps to reproduce:

  * start an X session:

    $ startx & logout

  * open a terminal (such as xterm)

  * gain root privileges:

    $ su -
    Password:

  * run checkrestart:

    # checkrestart
    Found 1 processes using old versions of upgraded files
    (1 distinct program)
    (1 distinct packages)
    These processes do not seem to have an associated init script to restart
them:
    xserver-xorg-core:
            6462    /usr/bin/Xorg

Why should I restart Xorg?
Which is the modified file used by Xorg in an obsolete version?

This happens only on my intel-graphics-powered box
(xserver-xorg-video-intel video drivers).
It does *not* happen with other video chipsets and drivers.
