This email is in regards to "Speech output is double normal speed" on
some sound chip
hardware combinations.
We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the archive as of 2010-11-09
when, for other reasons, ALSA aplay was made the supported and default backend
for festival in linux installs of Debian.
As a corollary your bug does not affect the ALSA aplay
backend. Note upstream advises the bug was only every known to affect
linux systems.

We believe that festival in stable, testing and unstable is thus fixed.
Remaining users of festival oldstable (lenny) can manually fix this bug by
replacing their copies of festival.scm in both /etc and
usr/share/festival with the
respective copies from stable (squeeze).

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [email protected]
<[email protected]>,
and the maintainers of festival will reopen the bug report if appropriate.

best regards,
Peter
