Package: xfce4-volumed
Version: 0.1.8-1
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze
Steps to reproduce:
1) Start a new Xfce session.
2) Assuming that NumLock is off, if you change the volume by using the
multimedia keys on your keyboard, it works.
3) Now turn NumLock on and try again. It doesn't work.
4) If you turn NumLock off, volume control through multimedia keys starts
working again.
I've verified this behavior on two systems running Squeeze 6.0.3. One of them
is a Dell Vostro 3400, and the other one is a no brand desktop system with an
AMD Athlon processor.
I think that this issue matches the definition of the "important" severity
level:
"A bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package" (it affects
anyone using the numeric keypad), "without rendering it completely unusable to
everyone" (it probably doesn't affect those who don't have a numeric keypad, or
those who never turn NumLock on).

Yes, agreed (closing but setting the version so the tracker sees it's
still opened in Squeeze).

Depends a bit on the commit fixing it. First we need to identify the
fix, then see if it can be backported and if it would be accepted to
stable, then upload and wait for a point release. It might be doable but
don't hold you breath, I'm barely keeping up on sid tasks right now.

Same thing as above, depends on time. I'm not sure Squeeze really needs
backports right now though, but at one point maybe.
