Package: aptitude
Version: Current

Aptitude will occasionally undo my package selections. This is completely wrong when naively passing my selections to apt-get would work correctly (which is what I finally did).

Suggested solution: Just don't allow the algorithm to change the status of any package that the user has set to 'i'.

And yes, I am aware that there there is an option to "Fix broken packages etc. etc." If this means de selecting the package that I selected, you should at least label it as such in the menu ( i.e. ignore user selections vs. Fix broken packages).
