Package: bluetooth
Version: 4.96-3
Severity: normal
When I launch "bluetooth-properties" I get a message stating that there is no
adapter present in the system.
Dmesg list the adapter:
hpc03@stt300:~$ dmesg|grep -i blue
[ 21.416844] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.16
[ 21.416923] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 21.416930] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 21.416936] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 21.420588] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
[ 21.667940] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
[ 21.667954] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
[ 21.667960] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.11
[ 21.685662] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3
[ 21.685670] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast
And "rfkill list" shows:
root@stt300:~# rfkill list
0: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
Loaded modules are:
hpc03@stt300:~$ lsmod|grep blu
bluetooth 94736 10 bnep,rfcomm
crc16 12327 1 bluetooth
rfkill 18522 5 bluetooth,hp_wmi,cfg80211
And bluetooth service seems to be started:
root@stt300:~# service bluetooth status
bluetooth is running.
Trying a manual setup, I get this:
root@stt300:~# bluetooth-agent 4835
Can't get default adapter
No such adapter
And:
root@stt300:~# hcitool dev
Devices:
root@stt300:~# hcitool scan
Device is not available: No such device
Not sure how to proceed from here, the detection of the BT adapter fails at
some point.

I maybe dreamed it but this netbook does not have an embedded bluetooth
adapter so no hardware, no possible detection. Sorry for the noise.
