Package: mozilla-thunderbird
Version: 1.0.6-3
Severity: minor

I use thunderbird in English, but like the international date and time
format (%d/%m/%Y %H:%M:%S). So I set my locale on Debian to en_IE, which
works usually. In thunderbird however, I see the 24 hour time, but not
the d/m/y date format. When I install mozilla-thunderbird-locale-nl and
set LANG=nl-NL I do get the right date format, but the UI is in Dutch.

I tried the suggestions at
http://www.colinseymour.co.uk/archives/2005/08/31/thunderbird-date-format/ but
in Debian the /usr/bin/mozilla-thunderbird script
prevents this solution.

I think that supplying a locale for thunderbird that uses English but with a
24 hour time and d/m/y format would solve this.
