Howdy,
virtaal depends on simplejson, which is included in the standard library
for Python 2.6 and higher, under the name json. Programs that require
compatibility with older versions typically use this idiom:
try:
import json
except ImportError:
import simplejson as json
This should be an easy patch, which upstream would certainly include
after you forward it, and it would allow you to remove the dep on
python-simplejson. I can make that patch if you point me to some
“getting set up to contribute to Debian” documentation.
