Severity: normal
When I type a german umlaut inside aptitude it gets completely frozen; no
further input is possible. Moreover if I press ctrl-C to end aptitude
there is a process left in the background which do not react to a simple
kill. Only a kill -9 will end them (And free the dpkg database for
further use).
To find the problem it might be helpful to point out that my complete
system is utf-8 free and I use iso latin1 encoding for the filesystem
and in my terminals.

It's been rather longer than one month, but better late than never.
