Package: sysv-rc
Version: 2.85-15
Severity: minor

The man page invoke-rc.d(8) needs a few small changes. Here is a
pseudo-patch for the most important change.

< invoke-rc.d itself will only pay attention to the current
< runlevel, and block any tries to start an init script in a
< runlevel it is not configured to be started at.

> invoke-rc.d itself only pays attention to the current
> runlevel; it will block any attempts to start a service
> in a runlevel in which the service is disabled.

The difference in the last few words is significant. The program
blocks a start request if there is a K symlink in rcR.d/ but doesn't
block it if there is no symlink in rcR.d/.

Here are some other pseudo-patches for minor issues.

> Debian Policy Manual

< Any extra init script parameters will be passed to the init script(s)
> Any extra parameters will be passed to the init script(s)

< for any actions other than start_._
> for any actions other than start.

< /etc/rc?.d/*
< System V runlevel configuration (if the file-rc package is not being used).

> /etc/rc?.d/*
> System V runlevel configuration (if the sysv-rc package is being used).
