Package: php5-mcrypt
Version: 5.2.6.dfsg.1-1+lenny9
Severity: normal

If php5-mcrypt is removed (not purged), it leaves /etc/php5/conf.d/mcrypt.ini
behind. This file configures PHP to look for mcrypt.so which in turn produces
the following PHP warning on each run:

iserv:~# LANG=C php -r 'echo "Test\n";'
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/mcrypt.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/mcrypt.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Test

I realize that both apt's behaviour (leaving behind the ini file when the
package is not purged) and PHP's behaviour (warning for missing libraries)
are intentional and usually make sense, but in this combination it seems
unfortunate.

Maybe the package could rename the ini file or change it's permissions so
that PHP won't read it anymore?
