Package: cups
Version: 1.3.9-2
Severity: important

Hi,

on my system, /etc/cups/interfaces seems to have vanished. Is it
possible that there is some cups package missing on my system which
takes care of /etc/cups/interfaces and which should have been pulled
in via Depends, or is there something locally broken?

In any case, I keep getting tons of strange "unable to" do things
(such as "Unable to copy PPD file!"), and when I strace the cupsd, I
always see it trying to access some files in the non-existent
directory /etc/cups/interfaces.

Please advise asap.

Greetings
Marc

The cups package in Debian seems to be basically unmaintained, which
is somewhat unfortunate.

Anyway, the behavior you describe ("Unable to copy PPD file!") sounds
like a bug, but I'm closing this since the headline
("/etc/cups/interfaces missing") does not look inherently like a bug
on its own. Please feel free to file a new bug describing the "Unable
to copy" symptoms in more detail, or to reopen this one if I have made
a mistake.

Thanks,
Jonathan
