when screen asks for input, it put's it into the history buffer.
it's not so much anying on "select" but certainly on "password"

I have no idea when this has been fixed in the past decade, but I can
no more reproduce this with the screen version in Debian Squeeze,
neither with C-a :password nor with entering the password after C-a x.

Closing this bug herewith and marking it as fixed in the version in
Debian Squeeze.
