Hello Jari,

jwm menu-method preoutput/postoutput config option are in fact
a full configuration file including option that are unrelated 
to the menu (key binding etc.).

This is an abuse of the system: you should rather use the
rcfile/examplercfile mechanism. This way the users can edit the 
rcfile and regenerate the menu without having to edit the menu-method.

Of course the best solution would be to use an include directive in
the rcfile that automatically include the menu file.

I would find plenty ironic that a wm that use such a buzzword compliant
menu format than XML is not able to handle the simple requirement of
including files.
