Package: irda-utils
Version: 0.9.18-10
Severity: minor

Hello,

THis is a minor information about irda. Irda for linux, first of all, is cool.
I am using it so scan, email, ... many things simply with a cool remote.

OK, so the thing is that I added:

mike ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/irpsion5
mike ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/irattach
mike ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/irdaping
mike ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/irdadump
mike ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/sbin/findchip

but the user still get some error:
./irdadump
./irdadump: Operation not permitted

or permission error when irpsion5

is there any ideas?

Thank if you have any clues

Yours sincerely,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

In orden to run irdadump with sudo you have to execute:
sudo irdadump
instead of: ./irdadump

This is not a bug, so I'm closing it.

Alberto
