Package: offlineimap
Version: 5.99.2
Severity: wishlist

IMAP has the ability to notify connected clients of changes to
folders. With inotify, Linux provides a similar framework, allowing
processes to subscribe to folders and files and be notified of
changes.

It would be among the coolest things in the world, if offlineimap
would support those, such that it would keep a connection open and
immediately synchronise local to remote and remote to local in
response to inotify or IMAP events. Those events also include enough
information so as to make scanning local and remote folders
unnecessary after initialisation.
