Package: zoneminder
Version: 1.23.2-2

zoneminder sprays a ton of stuff into syslog. I think this is really
wrong. Syslog should be reserved for more critical, system-related
processes and daemons to log to, not for some ancilliary application
like zoneminder to use. Inasmuch as syslog is an important system log
which should normally be depended upon for critical information, the
disruption of this log by zoneminder is a serious problem.

/var/log/zm is created but does not seem to be used. There is also no
option in zm.conf to tell it not to log to syslog, or to even set the
log level.

The new version, for better or worse, puts it's copious logs into the database
instead of syslog.
