Package: beid-tools
Version: 3.5.2.dfsg-10
Severity: grave
File: /usr/bin/beid-tool
Justification: renders package unusable

So beid-tools doesn't work. Although, after a bit of fiddling here and there, I
can get this :

debian:/home/stefan/Downloads# pcsc_scan
PC/SC device scanner
V 1.4.14 (c) 2001-2008, Ludovic Rousseau <[email protected]>
Compiled with PC/SC lite version: 1.4.101

3B 98 13 40 0A A5 03 01 01 01 AD 13 11
        Belgium Electronic ID card

I can get this as well :

debian:/home/stefan# opensc-tool -l
Readers known about:
Nr. Driver Name
0 openct OpenCT reader (detached)
1 openct OpenCT reader (detached)
2 pcsc ACS ACR38U 00 00
debian:/home/stefan# opensc-tool -a
Using reader with a card: ACS ACR38U 00 00
3b:98:13:40:0a:a5:03:01:01:01:ad:13:11

Unfortunately :

debian:/home/stefan# beid-tool -l
Failed to establish context: No readers found

(I run my tests as root, just in case it's an obvious permission issue)

So I guess the hardware is running properly...

In my previous Debian version it was working fine.

I've had a look at the beid-mw packages there :

http://code.google.com/p/eid-mw/

but no success there (which is OK seems my version is just not pointing at
right lib's...)

I have tech skills, so I can help with the debugging, I'd be happy to do it.

stF

PS/ it'd be nice if beid-tool would have more useful debug info. It'd help for
troubleshooting... Maybe I should sy that to Fedict :-)
