Dear Maintainer,
I have begun to work on packaging a new upstream version -- mpi4py-1.3.
You can see the progress online at https://github.com/bfroehle/debian-mpi4py
So far it builds correctly, and debdiff on the resulting packages show
only expected changes in the naming of *.egg-info files.
I ran into some difficulty running git-import-orig as git wanted to mangle
CRLF -> LF in a few *.bat files. Setting git's core.autocrlf to off resolved
the issue.
The following packaging changes were made:
* The doc build directory was renamed (build -> _build)
* up_no_modlibs patch was rebased
* override dh_auto_build for python 2, since --force would trigger cython
* bin/python-mpi and mpi4py/lib-pmpi/*.so files were manually removed after
installation
* removed some excluded tests, which now pass due to upstream fixes.
I've successfully built and tested the package so far only on Ubuntu 12.04
(Precise).
