Package: ices2
Version: 2.0.1-12
Severity: wishlist
flum,
The ices2 package used to ship RoarAudio support.
This was removed in 2.0.1-12.
ChangeLog tells us:
* Stop build-depending on libroar-dev or suggesting roaraudio-server.
Requested by Ron Lee.
It seems there was no public discusion on this nor does the ChangeLog tell
why this was done.
I request re-enabling RoarAudio support. As far as I know there was no
problem with it.
This ticket should be closed before the freeze (independed on result)
to ensure smallest possible effect to users.
Thank you for your help and work.

I agree with Ron. This bug is now closed: It was a kind request to
reenable Roar support, and the request is hereby kindly turned down.
Please note that as package maintainer I have the final say in this: Do
*not* reopen this bugreport again. You are however welcome to continue
the discussion here (closed != closed for discussion).

No, you were asked to open this bugreport for _this_ discussion to be
public (independent of prior discussions).

Then ignore such remarks: Focus on the technical points. :-)
Yes, there _was_ technical points in that mail from Ron!

Not random: Ron commented because I asked him to do so, and closed after
asking me first.

Names are pretty irrelevant for focusing on the technical points.
