Package: mozilla-thunderbird
Version: 1.0-3
Severity: normal

I use five different accounts with Thunderbird, all of them being simple POP3
accounts, one is POP3 over SSL. I have around 20 folders under the "Local
Folders" and incoming mail is automatically sorted using a list of filters.

I used Thunderbird for the last two month and had no serious problems with it
so far. But recently (since a few days), the following happens:

When I start Thunderbird and do nothing (i.e. I do not click anywhere) new
mail is fetched and an alert window pops up that reads: "This folder is being
processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." In
fact, I can select any other folder before and it pops up, too. It pops up a
number of times, maybe once for each account it tries to get new email for.
No new email arrives.

In case I start Thunderbird and immediately click on the "Local Folders" main
folder directly so the "Debian Thunderbird Mail - Local folders" menu is
displayed on the right side, the popup does not appear and it gets new email.

I can understand the reasoning behind the popup, but I think it would be
better to just disallow the user accessing a folder new mail is retrieved for.
