Could you please add rcp.el (.elc) into the emacs*-el package?
The current version of rcp.el can be retrieved from the following
URL: ftp://ls6-ftp.cs.uni-dortmund.de/pub/src/emacs/rcp.el
It is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
This package provides remote file editing, similar to ange-ftp.
The difference is that ange-ftp uses FTP to transfer files between
the local and the remote host, whereas rcp.el uses a combination
of rsh and rcp or other work-alike programs, such as ssh/scp.
Usage is also simple: it's just like ange-ftp, but uses a different
syntax for the remote file names. The syntax used is as follows:
/r@METHOD:USER@HOST:FILENAME
This logs you in as USER to the remote HOST using METHOD,
retrieving FILENAME. The "USER@" part can be omitted, in this case
the current local user name is used. The "@METHOD" part can be
omitted, in this case the default method specified in
`rcp-default-method' is used (default value is "rcp").
The benefit of rcp.el compared with ange-ftp.el is that this package
doesn't require sending passwords in plain text over the net.
Since this packge is only one single file, I don't want to create
a package of its own.

Hello,
Thanks for your interest in improving Debian, and sorry that the bugs
were not fully resolved in due time.
emacs21 packages have been removed from testing in 2009 [1], not
present even in the current stable. Consequently, these bugs are now
orphan (without maintainer assigned) so they probably will not be
attended/noticed further.

The bugs deemed valid are going to be verified and reassigned, but the
current bugs that I'm closing now are very ancient (more than 10 years
sometimes) and marked as unreproducible or fixed upstream years ago.
Please comment if you want think that some of the raised questions are
still pending and need to be addressed differently (e.g., reassigned
to other packages, etc.).
