Hi,
it may be due to a misconfiguration, but this just happend to me:
$ rjeff apt-get install bc

The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
openssl-blacklist mysql-common python2.5 libkrb53 libmysqlclient15off
libpkcs11-helper1 python2.5-minimal libdb4.5 libpq5 openvpn-blacklist
libdigest-sha1-perl
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following NEW packages will be installed:

E: Problem executing scripts DPkg::Pre-Invoke 'if [ -x /usr/sbin/etckeeper ];

E: Sub-process returned an error code
It seems that for some reason, /usr/sbin was not in the PATH. I find it
strange that the script checks for the existence of /usr/sbin/etckeeper
but then calls etckeeper without a path.
Greetings,
Joachim

indeed; the bug is in 0.48; I checked whether it exists in unstable but
overlooked the changed path; metadata adjusted and closed.
