Package: pidgin-libnotify
Version: 0.14-6
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Notifications make gnome-shell restart or crash. When having the plugin active,
notifications of connections and disconnections make gnome-shell restart.
Messages received make the whole session crash.

   * What led up to the situation?

Latest upgrade of gnome-shell from 3.0.2-5 to 3.0.2-8

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I deactivated the plugin and the issue ceased.

The only relevant thing I could find was in .xsession-errors:

Cogl:ERROR:./cogl-bitmap.c:401:_cogl_bitmap_map: assertion failed:
(!bitmap->mapped)
x-session-manager[30464]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-shell.desktop' killed by
signal

I'm not even sure this is a bug with libnotify but this is where the issue
arises.

This also happens on another machine running amd64.
