PANIC: I/O error

No matter where I actually store my repositories, baz (and tla)
require write access to the parent directory. This is quite bad and
reminiscent of some grave errors in the design.

It is likely that baz (or tla) wants to optimise and use the
pristine copy in the parent directory, which they assume holds other
branches of the same category as well. If it does not find
a pristine copy there, it then tries to create one.

Since both tools boast that they use hardlinks to conserve space,
I see no reason why the pristine copy shouldn't be kept in {arch},
which would make the checkout be independent of its location on the
filesystem.

Thanks for your consideration.
